ISDA Student Employee Guide

This guide is designed for students working for the Information Systems and Digital Access (ISDA) team in the University Libraries. It includes guidance on specific technologies, troubleshooting, and basic information about working in the library

Attendance

Attendance

Standards. Coming to work and arriving on time is important at any job. We expect you to be here and ready to work at your scheduled time. Your work schedule was drawn up with the expectation that your classes and extracurricular activities would not prevent you from arriving to work on time or require you to leave work early to get to them. It is not appropriate for you to leave work before the end of your scheduled shift or to arrive at work late because of class time unless approved by a supervisor.

Holidays and inclement weather

You may be expected to work on a national holiday or when the university delays opening classes or cancels classes due to a weather emergency.

Unexcused absences

Unexcused absences are any no call/no show during your scheduled time, as well as arriving late to work without prior notification. Please make sure that you assist the Student Coordinator to schedule your work hours so that you will not have to leave work early, or come into work late, because of your classes. This is considered an unexcused absence.

We have a very low tolerance policy regarding unexcused absences. We reserve the right to terminate your employment after one unexcused absence.

Chronic lateness or failure to report to work on time without notifying your supervisor could result in a job suspension or dismissal.
