ISDA Student Employee Guide

This guide is designed for students working for the Information Systems and Digital Access (ISDA) team in the University Libraries. It includes guidance on specific technologies, troubleshooting, and basic information about working in the library

Meeting Owl Pro

The Meeting Owl Pro is a 360 degree camera, microphone, and speaker that provides a more immersive experience for hybrid meeting attendees than a typical static web conferencing camera. Once set up, the Owl can be selected as the video and audio source for Zoom meetings.

The Owl is available for use by internal faculty and staff in the library. Library employees can reserve the camera by submitting a Reserve Equipment request in TeamDynamix. When not in use, the Owl is stored in the ISDA equipment cabinet located between Amira and David in the ISDA staff area.

To set up the camera, simply plug the AC adapter into the power port on the bottom of the device. Then connect the Owl to the computer used to host the meeting using the provided USB cable which has a Micro USB connector on one end and a USB A connector on the other. We do have a 20’ USB extension cable that may be used to ensure the Owl can be positioned appropriately for the size of the room.

Documentation on setup and maintenance of the Owl is available on the ISDA documentation site.

[This page needs further development to include information about support for workstations, laptops, microphones, and other miscellaneous equipment ISDA provides, such as cables and adapters]
