UDiscover provides access to both electronic and physical items located in a variety of locations. The sections below explain the variety of linking options available on the search results page.
Clicking this link will open the resource (PDF full text, HTML online, streaming video, etc).
Links beginning with "Check shelves at" means the item is available in print and available onsite at UD. Clicking this link will provide you with instructions for where to find it and--if necessary because it is already checked out--how to request it.
Clicking this link will allow you to submit a request for any print and electronic items that are not immediately available. These requests are free.
For online journal articles, e-books, and other types of online content, you will see options to "View Online" when it's immediately available through our holdings. Note that in certain cases there will be multiple links available within this section (as can be seen in the screenshot below). Typically the link at the top of the list (in the example below, "Springer Nature - OhioLINK TA") is the best option to choose because it has been ranked higher based on it having a wider date range of availability. In this case, "Springer Nature - OhioLINK TA" option has availability from June 2002 to the present, whereas the "EBSCOhost Energy & Power Source" does not have the most recent year.
When results are physically held by UD Libraries, you will see a notice to "Check shelves at." This means it is available to checkout on site at UD. To locate the item within one of UD's libraries, please view the information directly after the "Check shelves at" notice. In the example screenshotted below, it lists "Roesch Library 5th Floor (PS3554.0798 Z46 2008)." This means the book is available within the Roesch Library building, on the 5th floor, under the call number PS3554.0798 Z46 2008. If you need further guidance on navigating our print holdings, please visit our page on the topic.
