The ERIC Thesaurus is a specialized tool that lets you find and use the exact terms that ERIC uses to describe a concept. Follow the steps listed below:
Open the ERIC database. Click the Thesaurus link in the upper left hand corner, as pictured in the screenshot below:
Enter a search term into the Thesaurus search box. Click search.
View the results from your search. The Thesaurus will show you recommended terms for your topic. Click the recommended term.
The Thesaurus will then show you a definition of your term, and a list of related terms.
To add the term to your regular ERIC search, select the check box next to the term. Choose your preferred Boolean term, and click Add. The term will pop into the regular ERIC search box at the top of the screen.
Click Search and view your results.
