Institutional Login (also known as "Shibboleth" or "Single Sign on") has been enabled as an additional authentication mode for over 50 platforms at UD. Institutional Login is in addition to (not a replacement of) the Libraries’ more common authentication method, EZproxy. As pictured below, this new method enables users to log in when subscriptions are reached from outside the library website (e.g., from Google, an article link sent by a professor, or an email alert).
Step-by-step instructions for using the Institutional Login authentication method:
Note: If the institution lookup search is unavailable, select the "your region or Federation" dropdown and within this list, select "US InCommon Higher Education." This will open a new page with a list of institutions. Within this list, select "University of Dayton" and login as above.
If University of Dayton is not listed, it may be that we do not subscribe to the resource you are trying to access. If in doubt, contact the Library.
