The EBSCOhost Passport browser extension allows for easy access to full-text articles by inserting links to online library collections in any web page where two criteria are met: DOIs are present and the user has access to the article through library subscriptions or Open Access availability. It incorporates authentication preferences and adjusts the links accordingly--meaning that you will be routed to UD's subscription content.
To install EBSCOhost Passport do the following:
Open Chrome or Microsoft Edge (other web browsers are expected to have the tool soon). Use the relevant link below to download and install:
When installing, select the University of Dayton option when prompted to identify your institution.
To use EBSCOhost Passport:
Once you have installed the extension and chosen UD, simply browse the web and look for the following “E icons” next to citations and search results:
Indicates full-text access from UD in an EBSCO Database.
Indicates full-text access from UD's subscription content. These links will direct you to publisher websites such as ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Wiley Online Library, etc.
Indicates the article is Open Access and will direct you to the preferred Open Access version via Unpaywall.
