Vlogging Kit
A vlogging kit with the following components is available to check out at the first-floor Hello Desk. All components come packaged in a heavy-duty tote for easy transportation. The kit includes:
- Digital camera with shotgun microphone (3.5mm and USB-C outputs), wireless shooting grip, windshield and tripod.
- 3.5mm extension cable so the shotgun microphone can be closer to the action.
- Two magnetic LED light kits with diffusers and mini-tripods.
Kit Borrowing Policies
- Media kits at Roesch Library can only be borrowed by current University of Dayton students, faculty and staff. Each kit loans out for 1 day and may be renewed for 1 additional day.
- Patrons can only checkout 1 kit at a time.
- Media kits are available for checkout from the Hello Desk Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. At checkout, patrons will be given a due date and time when they borrow a kit.
- Kits must be returned to library staff by the given date and time.
- Patrons must sign a loan agreement form prior to borrowing an equipment kit. This form serves to verify all components of the kit are present and provides details of the loan agreement and due date.
- Overdue kits will be billed to the patron after 3 days. If the equipment is not returned after it is billed, a registration/transcript hold will be placed on the patron’s account. Holds will not be removed until all billed equipment is returned or the bill is paid.
- The patron is responsible for any lost or damaged equipment. If the entire kit is lost or damaged, the patron will be responsible for the full cost of the kit. Refunds will not be made if equipment is found after the patron has paid the replacement fee.
Patron Data Files
Roesch Library is not responsible for any data files left on returned equipment. All files will be wiped in order to clear space for future patron use.

Tote Components
The vlogging kit is packaged in a large fabric tote for more accessible transportation. Within the tote, you will find:
- One hard case with the camera and accessories
- One 3.5 mm extension cable for the microphone
- One large tripod in a fabric bag
- Two LED light kits
Camera Components
Within the tote you will find a small hard case with the following camera components:
- Sony ZV-1 II Digital Camera
- Wireless Shooting Grip
- Shotgun Microphone with windshield (3.5mm and USB-C outputs)
- Extra battery for the digital camera
- USB-C cable and wall charger
- SD card and SD card reader
LED Light Kit Components
The vlogging kit includes two LED lighting kits. Each kit contains:
- Flexible mini-tripod
- LED light storage case
- Aputure RGB LED light
- Silicone light diffuser
- USB-C charging cable

Shotgun Microphone (VideoMic GO II)
In most situations, you will want to connect the Rode VideoMic GO II to the camera included in this kit using a 3.5mm TRS cable. However, if you want to use your smartphone, tablet or computer, use a USB-C cable to connect the microphone to your device, set it as your input source and hit record. Using the USB-C output also allows the 3.5mm output to be used as a headphone output for monitoring your audio! If you want advanced features and the ability to configure the microphone settings, install RØDE Central on your device.
