Developing a Business Model Canvas takes creativity, concentration, and research, and it can be hard to know where to start! These three steps can help you establish a strong foundation for the rest of your work - and your librarian is always here to help.

1. Define Your Business: Describe what your business will sell, make, or do. Be specific and clear. 
2. Brainstorm: List key words and phrases related to your business and its product or services, then think of synonyms and related or similar businesses and products. You can add to this list later - it doesn't need to be complete!
3. Determine Your Industry: Using the information from Steps 1 & 2, determine the industry (or industries) in which your business will operate. This will help you find information for many pieces of your business plan. Learn how to find your industry on this page.
