Digital storytelling is the use of digital technology to tell stories. In research and academic settings, digital stories are a way of presenting research and knowledge using text, video, images, audio, maps, timelines and/or other digital media.
Common Categories of Digital Stories
Non-Fiction: Digital stories can present research, provide information on a topic or concept, be used for learning, and share biographies, reports, history, and more.
Reflective: Communicate the process of learning, researching, doing, or growing
Documentary: Tell a story using facts, interviews, and records of many types
Experimental: Convey abstract ideas or share information in an artistic & creative manner
Participatory: Built and developed through collaboration among peers, communities, and partners
