The December 14, 2024 graduation submission deadline for a thesis or dissertation for format review to Graduate Academic Affairs (ETDReview@udayton.edu) is Monday, November 18, 2024. New submissions will not be accepted after November 18. The thesis or dissertation defense must be completed by Monday, November 25, 2024 In order for approvals to be completed prior to the graduation date of December 14. Any changes/additions required by the thesis or dissertation committee after the defense must be incorporated and a final version submitted not later than Monday, December 9, 2024. The thesis or dissertation once approved must be uploaded to OhioLINK before August 5 graduation. However, preliminary format reviews can be done prior to the thesis or dissertation defense, and we strongly suggest this. As you are preparing your manuscript, so that there will not be a delay in approving final formatting, please be sure to review the thesis and dissertation formatting guidelines, along with the sample pages, which can be found at libguides.udayton.edu/etd. .
Theses & Dissertations Requiring Public Release Approval
The OhioLINK ETD database is housed on servers beyond control of the University of Dayton. To avoid liability for inadvertently releasing information that has not been approved for public release, ETD's subject to U.S. Government (e.g., U.S. Air Force) public release review and approval may not be uploaded to the OhioLINK ETD database until public release approval has been granted and documented. (Adding the public release approval statement at the end of the ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS page in your document is sufficient.) Note that requesting a publication embargo is not sufficient to meet graduation requirements since the thesis/dissertation must still have been uploaded. Also note that uploading your ETD is a mandatory step prior to graduation. If public release approval is delayed and you are unable to upload your ETD by the published deadline, you will not be allowed to graduate that term.
