Information Sources

This list is organized according to the information cycle.  The University of Illinois has a nice infographic of the information cycle.

Information from the SAME DAY

Information produced right after an event will be online via news websites and social media, as well as television.

Information from the WEEK OF & WEEK AFTER

Newspapers will report on events the day after they happen and popular magazines will report on events within a week.

Information MONTHS AFTER

Scholars will publish their findings in articles months after researching an event or topic.

Information a YEAR AFTER

Writing a book takes longer than writing articles.  Books, statistics, and reference sources can take over a year to be published.
